VO₂ Max: The Longevity Number Nobody Taught Us About
By Mark & Terri Klapperich, Shaklee Independent Ambassadors
The short answer
VO₂ max is the maximum amount of oxygen your body can use during exercise, and researchers treat it as one of the strongest indicators of functional health and longevity. It normally improves only with sustained cardio training. Shaklee reports that Vivix+ is clinically shown to increase VO₂ max without additional exercise.*
What the number means
VO₂ max measures how efficiently your heart, lungs, blood, and muscles work together to use oxygen. Higher is better. It declines with age, and low VO₂ max is associated with worse outcomes across the board in long-term studies.
Your smartwatch probably estimates it already. That number is worth paying attention to.
How people usually raise it
Consistent aerobic exercise: brisk walking, cycling, intervals. It works, and we do it. It also takes months and it is the first thing to slide when life gets busy.
What Shaklee found
Shaklee states that in clinical studies Vivix+ is shown to increase VO₂ max without additional exercise.* We are not suggesting anyone skip their walks. We are saying a supplement with that kind of clinical result belongs in the conversation.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is a good VO₂ max for my age?
Ranges vary by age and sex. Most fitness watches show where you fall. Improving your own number over time matters more than comparing to a chart.
Does Vivix+ replace exercise?
No. Exercise has benefits far beyond VO₂ max. Vivix+ is a daily supplement, not a substitute for movement.
